"Maria Callas, the immortal Heroine”  - Η αθάνατη Μαρία Κάλλας ζωντανεύει στον Πύργο Μπαζαίου στη Νάξο. 

Το Φεστιβάλ Νάξου, σε συνεργασία με την Opera Net work, το Ensemble San Felice, το XR Festival Florence (CAPHE) και το Prokopios Arts Festival, παρουσιάζουν μια πρωτοποριακή υβριδική μουσικοθεατρική παράσταση αφιερωμένη στην απόλυτη ντίβα της όπερας.

Σε σύμπραξη με κορυφαία ιταλικά ιδρύματα (Conservatorio Puccini La Spezia, Liceo Cardarelli, Liceo Marchesi, Liceo Modigliani Padova), 

Η παράσταση "Maria Callas, the immortal Heroine" της Carla Zanin είναι ένα μοναδικό οδοιπορικό στη ζωή και τους εμβληματικούς ρόλους της Μαρίας Κάλλας, μέσα από ένα καινοτόμο "Virtual Stage" (Ψηφιακή Σκηνή). Η ηθοποιός Μαριάνθη Κυρίου ενσαρκώνει τη μεγάλη σοπράνο, πλαισιωμένη από διεθνούς φήμης λυρικούς καλλιτέχνες, πολυμελή χορωδία, χορευτές και τη Virtual Stage Orchestra υπό τη διεύθυνση του μαέστρου Federico Bardazzi. Το θεατρικό κείμενο είναι στα Ελληνικά με Αγγλικούς Υπότιτλους.

"Maria Callas, the Immortal Heroine" transports audiences into the captivating life of Maria Callas, exploring her multifaceted personality in a close comparison between her great career achievements and her personal life, all through the lens of breathtaking music and compelling storytelling. Starting from the many letters she wrote, the opera tells of her determination, her triumphs and at the same time whispers her childhood dreams, her passions, her hopes.

The musical program is meticulously crafted keeping in mind the close relation between Maria’s profound woman sensitivity, her incredible career and her true life, trying to recreate some of her most iconic performances. The opera is composed of 7 sections where acting and music interlace in a continuous flow, in the alternation of the spoken word and the sung word. The theatrical text is in Greek with English subtitles.

This Opera Network production of theatre, music and dance is not only for opera lovers and music enthusiasts but for those who madly love Maria. The Opera premiered in Athens in 2023 on the occasion of Callas 100 Celebration in 2023 in the context of the research activities of the Horizon Europe Project CAPHE-Communities & Artistic Participation in Hybrid Environments, and was met with extraordinary audience acclaim. In 2025 the show was performed in 2025 at XR Festival Florence 2025 in the wonderful venue of the millenary Cathedral of the Image in the hearth of Florence in an immersive site specific version with 28 projectors 360 audio and proposed in Umbria Cantat Festival with great success of audience and press.
